Running for Sleep?

Jack and Julia have both been sick over the last two weeks, one then the other, which has made for some interesting sleeping patterns and some really early wake ups, as in the 5 o'clock hour. To get them both a little cat nap to make it through the day I have been taking them on some early morning runs. So if you see a sleepy looking mom pushing a double bob with two sleeping kids on the Burke Gilman early in the morning, it is probably me! Looks like it worked this morning.....

Passing on Tradition

Jack helped Jeff make shortcakes (a Wise family tradition for years) up at Guemes last weekend. Jack has so much fun and I think Jeff did too!

Best Buds

Jack and his best buddy Jomie are having a blast this summer playing on the beach, swimming, and eating ice cream. Here they are one summer evening enjoying an ice cream on the beach.

Julia 10 Months

Julia turned 10 months this week. I can hardly believe she is so close to a one year old! She has gotten to much easier in the last two months. Finally sleeping through the night, has gotten over her stranger anxiety and overall has gotten a lot happier now that she is so mobile. Julia loves to play with Jack and tries to do everything he does. It is so fun to watch her personality emerge. Here she is at her 10 month pictures and Jack's are below. I remember having so much fun with Jack at this age and we are having the same fun with Julia now. Loving summer with both kiddos!

Swim Lessons

Jack is doing his first swim lessons on his own this week. He has been a little shy and scared. Sometimes he will not go in unless I go in with him at first, but overall he is enjoying it and is swimming like a fish! Here are some pictures of a good day when he was really into it. I am so proud of my little guy!

Hawaii

We celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday this year with a family trip to Hawaii! We spent 10 days in Wailea on Maui and had a blast! We spent just about every second at the beach and pool. Jack learned how to swim (well sort of, enough to get from one person to another) and Julia practiced her walking and speedy crawling. So many pictures and so much fun, here are a few highlights.

Julia spent some quality time in the jogging stroller in the mornings as she and I ran along the Wailea beach trail and then got our morning latte.
